You were braver than any of us suspected! I thought maybe there's a problem with me, but when I finally decided to read this book, I realize it wasn't me after all since I have no problem engaging with this book, at all. Both of them work their way around to solve the mystery of the crime that will led them to the dangerous answers they both so desperately seek. The only problem I had but everything about this book is more than worth reading. Thomas, baby, let me cuddle you and care about you and kill all that cruel bastards for you. She did such a great job of making the protagonists realistic and authentic, especially Thomas's internal pain and struggle! Brigid Kemmerer is amazing author.
Another awesome book- hopefully series- by the master of character-driven awesomeness! If you love mystery and paranormal books with unpredictable plot, then Thicker than water is definitely more than worth reading! Would I Recommend It: I can't not recommend this book! Which btw happens a lot with other books. She'd had no warning, nor had Supergirl. These decisions can be anywhere from life-altering to daily choices and each person needs to keep in mind that every decision has a consequence that follows. Intense, sultry and enjoyable for the most part. And the way this book ended - I'm almost terrified of another book if there will be another! I mean, did you read the first sentence in that synopsis? Her scream was little more than a gasp, swallowed by the tape across her mouth.
And then there's chapter 19. Charlotte wasn't as interesting but she brought a completely different dynamic to the book. It's dual narrated by Thomas and Charlotte, but in 1st person which I usually don't like. Before I discovered Goodreads, I would read the first two pages or so of a book and decide then and there whether I thought the book would appeal to me or not. It's lucky, then, that within minutes of meeting Councillor Danbury, she has a bruised face - and a prime suspect. But still I trudged on forward even though it took me almost a month to get to the finish line.

Thicker than Water is an unforgettable dark, harrowing look into the disturbing truth of drug addiction and the desperate love of a sister watching her brother deteriorate before her eyes.
